Exalt/Exhaust

This footage documents Fearce’s performance for the Queertopia Performance festival. In the work,  consecutive Fearce sustains an arch over a ladder for 11 consecutive minutes while an array of  worldscapes and ecologies are projected onto his body and the wall behind him. The performance works as a reenactment of the exaltation and exhaustion of the Black American subject in the white imagination.
